Chris Bassitt pitched six strong innings, Davis Schneider hit a home run and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Chicago White Sox 6-1 on Tuesday night in a game that was shortened to seven innings because of rain.
The red-hot Blue Jays poured it on Sox starter Aaron Civale for five runs in the third inning, and Toronto pitcher Chris Bassitt had stymied his one-time team except for a solo homer by Sox infielder Josh Rojas in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Jays have won 10 in a row.
Chicago White Sox starter Adrian Houser threw up in the dugout after the first inning against Toronto but returned to pitch, continuing a pattern from his time with the Miluwakee Brewers.
The White Sox posted a tribute video and held a moment of silence for Jenks prior to Monday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays, their first home game since Jenks died. Players donned a No. 45 patch on their jerseys to commemorate Jenks' former playing number that they will wear for the remainder of the season.
