Two employees of the Israeli Embassy were killed in the shooting outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., and the suspect is facing murder charges.
Investigators are trying to authenticate an online document posted by an X account linked to the accused gunman, according to two law enforcement officials.
The two victims of the attack, who have been identified as Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky, were shot following an event at the museum on Wednesday.
Yechiel Leiter, Israel's ambassador to the U.S., told reporters the two victims were a couple about to become engaged.
A Chicago man has been arrested in connection to the slayings. A member of Gov. JB Pritzker's team was "shaken up but thankfully safe," the governor said in a statement Thursday.
