Less than a week before his second MLB All-Star Game appearance, Twins center fielder Byron Buxton left Wednesday’s game against the Cubs with a left hand contusion. Buxton led off with a hit-by-pitch that was originally ruled a foul ball but overturned after a Minnesota challenge.

Buxton led off the bottom of the first inning when he was hit, although the play was initially ruled a foul ball. Minnesota challenged the call and it was overturned after video review showed the ball hitting a pad on the top of Buxton’s hand.
