The Boston Red Sox got an injury scare during Friday afternoon's matchup against the Baltimore Orioles. Third baseman Alex Bregman exited the matchup in the fifth inning after he awkwardly rounded first base on a single. He retreated to the bag, called timeout and left for the clubhouse with a noticeable limp.

Lucas Giolito is set to start for the Boston Red Sox on Friday against Jackson Holliday and the Baltimore Orioles. First pitch is at 7:10 p.m. ET at Fenway Park. The Red Sox average 1.2 home runs per game to rank eighth in MLB play with 62 total home runs. The Orioles' .232 batting average ranks 24th in the league this season.
