Attorney General Jason Miyares is taking legal action against 23andMe's plan to sell people's data in order to protect Virginians, just a couple of months after the company filed for bankruptcy.

AG Jackson’s office says that the company is allegedly attempting to sell the data of more than 15 million customers nationwide and those who sent biological samples or other personal information to 23andMe are at risk.

Utah Attorney General Derek Brown and a bipartisan coalition of 27 other attorneys general filed a lawsuit against biotech company 23andMe.
