A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Jefferson County until 7:15 p.m. At 630 p.m. CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Brooklyn to near Footville, moving northeast at 45 mph. Winds could reach 70 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning at 6:59 p.m. on Friday in effect until 7:30 p.m. for Johnson and Miami counties.

The warning was in place for Rutherford County. "The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and has exited the warned area. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire," says the NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC. The warning is in effect until 5:45 p.m.
