The Brazilian Agriculture Ministry on Thursday updated the list of countries that have placed restrictions on chicken trade with the world's largest exporter after it confirmed its first case of bird flu on a commercial farm.

Brazil, one of the world’s largest producers and exporters of poultry, has confirmed the country’s first bird flu outbreak on a commercial farm.

Brazil has initiated a 28-day observation period to ensure its chicken farms are free from bird flu, following disinfection of the initial outbreak site. Successful clearance could lead to the lifting of trade bans imposed by various countries.
