For most of the 2010s and into the 2020s, Jean Segura was one of the better middle infielders in Major League Baseball. The native of Dominican Republic made the All-Star Game twice - once with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2014 and once with the Seattle Mariners in 2018 - during his 12 years in the bigs.

The timing couldn't be better, what with the Mariners' lead over the Astros being the size it is and with Houston heading to Seattle this week. Plus, two other starters - righties Logan Gilbert and Bryce Miller - remain out of commission for likely another couple weeks dealing with their own injuries, as well.
