The U.S. Open has turned into a sprint through the soggy fairways of Oakmont following a downpour that caused a delay of 1 hour, 37 minutes.

The suspension of play came at 4:01 p.m. ET. Play will resume at 5:40 ET. Oakmont was soaked in the weeks prior to the U.S. Open, then largely dried out until a deluge dropped more than an inch of rain on the course on Friday evening.

The final round of the US Open golf tournament has been stopped due to ‘dangerous weather’ on Sunday afternoon.

The winner of the 2025 U.S. Open will take home a hefty paycheck of $4.3 million, the same amount as last year's winner Bryson DeChambeau.
