Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren make the most of 'The Thursday Murder Club,' Netflix amiable but treacly adaptation of Richard Osman's mystery bestseller.

Richard Osman's Thursday Murder Club book series is one of the most successful of recent years - more than 10 million copies have been sold, all four books have broken UK sales records and the fifth instalment will be released in the autumn.

Given that it'll be available to watch on Netflix next week, the UK's three major cinema chains won't be screening The Thursday Murder Club. Movies need to have a longer exclusive window in cinemas (generally at least 30 days between theatrical and home release) to be shown in the major chains.
