A federal law enforcement source told CBS News that local police arrested eight people. The official said some of those apprehended were wearing body armor.

ODESSA, Texas — The Odessa community is in mourning following the tragic death of Odessa Police Officer Bailey Martin, whose body was located and positively identified this week in Travis County. According to the Odessa Police Department (OPD), Martin passing has been confirmed and next-of-kin have been notified.

Several armed people were taken into custody after officers responded to a report of a suspicious person outside the detention center, officials said.
