The blaze ignited around 5:15 p.m. Saturday off Springhurst Drive in the Sabre Springs area, burning in brush near Cobblestone Creek Road in Poway, sheriff’s officials said. Crews were able to stop the forward spread of the fire around 6:30 p.m., according to San Diego fire officials.

Crews left the scene of the Academy Fire on Sunday after doing mop-up work the day before, the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department said.
