Multiple parades will march through the streets of New York City for Memorial Day to commemorate the legacy of soldiers who have fought for the country. However, parades also mean multiple street closures throughout the five boroughs.
A Memorial Day service at the Cicero Cemetery, 8554 Brewerton Road precedes the parade at 10:30 a.m. Parade will begin at 11 a.m. at Brewerton Road and end at the American Legion on Legionnaire Drive. There will be a memorial service at the Legion monument followed by a lunch.
The parade begins Saturday May 24th 10AM at Lonergan Park and ends at Veterans Memorial Park, where VFW Post 7290 will hold a memorial service. There is also a family festival and a 100th anniversary celebration. Also a Memorial Day Ceremony at Howlett Hill Cemetery, Howlett Hill Road happens Sunday May 25th 10AM.
