You're supposed to breakout the grill for Memorial Day weekend, not your umbrella. Unfortunately, Mother Nature didn't get the memo. On Thursday, an "unusual" May nor'easter drenched Massachusetts and Rhode Island with several inches of rain.

The Memorial Day weekend kicked off with a multi-day thunderstorm and heavy rainfall system hitting the south-central part of the country, forecasters said.
