Five days after making his MLB debut, Samuel Basallo has reportedly signed a long-term contract extension with the Baltimore Orioles.

The Orioles agreed to terms on an eight-year, $67 million contract extension with star 21-year-old catcher Samuel Basallo.

After Samuel Basallo became the first young Baltimore Orioles player to sign to sign a long-term, pre-arbitration contract extension under this current regime, owner David Rubenstein expressed long-term optimism despite the club's last-place standing.
