Roger Federer has made a return to Wimbledon — but to watch, not play, tennis. The eight-time champion at the All England Club sat in the Royal Box during his former rival Novak Djokovic's four-set victory over Alex de Minaur in the fourth round Monday.
Jannik Sinner defeated Novak Djokovic and reached the Wimbledon final — a result that also adds to the legacy of Roger Federer.
They have faced each other nine times overall, with Djokovic claiming four victories and Sinner winning the other five. The young Italian has also won each of their last four meetings, a run which dates back to 2023. Federer is backing Djokovic to buck the trend at the next time of asking, though.
