Logan Webb pitched six stingy innings and Casey Schmitt belted a three-run homer to lead the San Francisco Giants to a 7-1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy turned to Anderson after Peralta threw 96 pitches over five shutout innings. But errors by shortstop Andruw Monasterio and third baseman Anthony Seigler led to the Giants erasing a 1-0 deficit with three unearned runs.
With Grant Andersen on the mound and facing a 1-0 deficit, the Giants took advantage of some hittable pitches – and a handful of errors – to jump all over Milwaukee. Casey Schmitt, starting at second, drove in four runs.
Ahead of Saturday’s game, Turang was unexpectedly scratched after originally being placed in the starting lineup. Manager Pat Murphy explained that Turang was penciled in automatically, but after a batting cage session, the team determined he wasn’t ready to go.

I’m scheduling this before Friday night’s game between the San Francisco Giants and the Milwaukee Brewers, which I can only imagine went poorly, based on recent results (and not-so-recent results) for each team.
