Murray State's College World Series run came to an end vs Arkansas. Arkansas pitcher Gage Wood tossed a no-hitter to eliminate Murray State baseball.
The Tigers (48-15) took two out of three games from the Razorbacks (48-13) earlier this season in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Arkansas is a perfect 5-0 in the NCAA baseball tournament, including sweeping SEC rival Tennessee in the Fayetteville Super Regional.
As LSU is hopeful, Arkansas is potentially cursed. But are the Razorbacks done? Monday is an important day in Omaha.
LSU tacked on another run on a 2-out RBI single by Luis Hernandez in the bottom of the third and teams were called off the field after the Bruins recorded the next out. Arkansas (49-14) lost 4-1 to LSU (49-15) on Saturday in the CWS opener for both teams. UCLA (48-16) defeated Murray State 6-4 in its first CWS game.
LSU left-hander Kade Anderson's masterclass performance on Saturday night at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha (Neb.) lifted the Tigers to a 4-1 College World Series win over Arkansas. Anderson fired 7.0 innings of work with seven strikeouts while limiting the Razorbacks to one run during his time on the bump.
