As the WNBA investigates whether fans harassed Reese with racist taunts Saturday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, she addressed the situation for the first time Tuesday.

Reese and Cardoso were already familiar with each other before arriving in the WNBA. Cardoso starred at South Carolina, where she earned Most Outstanding Player honors in the 2024 NCAA Tournament. Her Gamecocks defeated Iowa in the national championship game.

Angel Reese recently reposted a video onto her TikTok account that said she is "unsafe" when playing against Caitlin Clark and the Fever in Indiana.

Clark escalated his critique during an episode of The Pivot, saying, “The one thing we know about RG3 is he’s not having conversations at his home about what Black women have to endure in this country,” referencing RGIII’s interracial marriages.
