Here’s an interesting one. Microsoft has created a Visual Studio Emulator for Android, and it’s a free download, which can be used separately from Visual Studio itself.

Microsoft’s accommodations for iOS and Android in “15” are not its first, however. The company previously has offered capabilities for Android and iOS in Visual Studio.

While the fresh new Visual Studio 2015 isn't as cross-platform as that, it does include support for other platforms in the mobile category, namely Android and iOS.

Microsoft said support for the Android emulator will be coming soon, but didn't give an exact timeframe. Mac users can sign-up to be notified when it's available from the Visual Studio website.
