This post will show you how to open Python PY files in Windows 11/10. PY is a script file written in Python programming language.

Execute Shell Script Files Open Command Prompt and navigate to the folder where the script file is available. Type Bash script-filename.sh and hit the enter key.

You could even embed an executable file in a script — even another script — and then execute that script which might unpack another script. It boggles the mind.

It encapsulates the script with a lightweight PowerShell host written in C# and compiles the dynamically generated C# source code in memory to an EXE file.

The "open" program is specific to OS X and lets you basically drag and drop a file with the -a command onto an application. This way it overrides the per-user OBJ open-with settings.
