Oracle has released Java 7 Update 11 to address the latest Java security flaw. Java 6 was not updated as the bug that has gotten all the attention the last few days was limited to Java version 7.

Version 6 has fewer features (the bug is in a new feature that only exists in Java 7) and Security Explorations found they could not (yet at least) break it.

The company has yet to respond to requests for comment. But this version of Java was first introduced in the summer of 2008 and is woefully insecure and out-of-date.

You can check which Java version is on your Mac to see if you have the most up-to-date Java running, or you can check on the Java website.
