You can share ‘Make a copy’ link to your Google files. The copy can then be saved onto the recipient’s Drive where they can edit it. Make a copy View only.
Create a Symbolic Link: Right-click the target file or folder and select "Pick Link Source." Go to the folder where you want the symlink to appear, right-click, and select "Drop As -> Symbolic Link".
Creating a shortcut is not the same thing as moving the program or file to your desktop folder. Rather, a shortcut functions as a link to that file's actual location.
Instead of relocating your files to this folder, you can create a symbolic link within the Google Drive folder that points to D:ImportantDocs.
