Today, Google announced that App Engine is gaining support for the wildly popular Node.js JavaScript run-time.

Like Microsoft Azure and AWS, Google Cloud offers both PaaS and IaaS, as well as a wide range of services. Google’s PaaS, App Engine, is at the heart of its cloud.

Google App Engine (GAE), Google's PaaS offering, is now offering a preview of support for the Node.js 8.x runtime within the standard environment, with a full release promised soon.
