Dolly Parton is finding it hard to finish certain projects after her beloved husband, Carl Dean, died in March. The country icon said in a new interview that she’s really only had writer’s block once in her life, but she’s now putting “a few things” on pause after Dean’s death.

“My husband passed away three months ago. … Several things I’ve wanted to start, but I can’t do it,” Parton said of how grief has affected her creative process.
