Williamson County's Vector Management Program had signs placed around Southwest Williamson County Regional Park after a pool of mosquitoes tested positive for West Nile on July 9.

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced the West Nile virus (WNV) has been reported in more than a dozen counties in the state, including in the Heartland.

Williamson County and Cities Health District has reported that a woman has caught the first case of mosquitop-spread West Nile virus this year.
