The Tush Push will stick around for the 2025 NFL season, thanks in part to the New England Patriots. On Wednesday, league owners voted on a proposed rule change that would ban the QB sneak play popularized by the Philadelphia Eagles. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the rule change fell short of the 24 votes it needed to pass.
One of the more disingenuous arguments being pushed by the anti-tush push crowd is the notion that, despite the absence of injury data to prove the play isn't safe, it could be a safety issue.
Yup. Per multiple reports, Kelce is in Minneapolis on Wednesday morning to, uh, push for the Tush Push. Why? Because, as he said on the New Heights podcast, there were claims that Kelce got hurt while running the play, and he wanted to make sure to dispel that narrative:
If the tush push is banned, Hurts and the Eagles will lose their biggest short-yardage weapon in 2025. According to Jay Morrison of SI.com, Hurts has scored 33 of his 55 rushing touchdowns from one-yard out, which is the most by any quarterback in league history. Most of them have been on the tush push.
Former Eagles quarterback Ron Jaworski and city officials celebrated the $7.5 million renovation of the Murphy Recreation Center with a Tush Push inspired ribbon cutting ceremony.
