The president extended his pause on so-called “reciprocal tariffs” on U.S. trading partners till August 1 and indicated that the new deadline was not set in stone.

President Donald Trump threatened to add a 10% tariff rate on BRICS-aligned countries. The term first applied to 4 countries but the group expanded.

The letters listed a range of tariffs. Goods entering the U.S. from Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, and Tunisia will be subject to a 25 percent levy. There will be a 30 percent levy on South African and Bosnian goods, while imports from Indonesia will be subject to a 32 percent rate.
