Tropical Storm Fernand is expected to continue weakening over the central Atlantic Ocean for the next couple of days and pose no threat to land, the National Hurricane Center in Miami said early Tuesday.

Tropical Storm Fernand gained a bit of strength Sunday night in the Atlantic Ocean but is not expected to make landfall before dying out next week.

MIAMI (AP) — Tropical Storm Juliette formed Monday in the Pacific Ocean hundreds of miles from Mexico’s Baja California peninsula as Tropical Storm Fernand churned in the Atlantic Ocean. No coastal watches or warnings were in effect for either storm, the Miami-based U.S. National Hurricane Center said.
