A west Michigan prosecutor has decided not to retry former Grand Rapids Police Officer Christopher Schurr in the 2022 shooting death of Patrick Lyoya, a 26-year-old Congolese immigrant, after a mistrial was declared earlier this month on a second degree murder charge.

The victims of a fatal shooting outside the Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., have been identified as a young couple who worked at the Israeli Embassy and were on the verge of getting engaged. The Israeli Foreign Ministry identified the victims as Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim,

Yaron Lischinsky loved photography, and Sarah Milgrim was an active member of her Jewish community. The two worked for the Israeli Embassy.

The museum, located 1.3 miles from the White House in Washington, D.C., is in a busy part of the city packed with federal offices and museums.

Authorities say a security incident outside CIA headquarters has led to a shooting. Officers with the Fairfax County Police Department in Virginia responded to what they described as a “nonfatal” shooting at the agency’s headquarters in McLean about 4 a.

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said on social media that “early indicators are” that the shooting of two Israeli Embassy staffers was “an act of targeted violence.”
