The party atmosphere in west London is set to intensify on Monday as revellers head to the Notting Hill Carnival for its second day. Colourful costumes, dancing and music filled the streets of west London for Europe's biggest street party's children's day on Sunday, and the spectacle will continue with the main parade on Monday.

Met Police make 140 arrests – 105 at the carnival and 35 on approaches to the event – by 7.45pm on Sunday in a proactive public safety crackdown

A total of 140 people have been arrested on the first day of a popular carnival. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that, of the dozens of arrests at the Notting Hill Carnival in London, 15 were for assaults on police.
