AAA predicts nearly 1.3 million Michiganians will journey at least 50 miles from home from Thursday through Monday.

AAA anticipates around 40 million Americans to travel by car this Memorial Day weekend. In Michigan, approximately 1.2 million people will hit the road between Thursday and Monday. The worst times to travel will be in the afternoon those days.

Thursday kicks off the start of the busy Memorial Day weekend travel period, with more than 45 million people expected to travel between now and Monday.
