Manny Machado has 2,000 career hits. The Padres star accomplished that feat while batting for San Diego against Arizona Monday.

The Padres star picked up the 2,000th hit of his career in their 6-3 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Machado officially reached the mark in the fourth inning of the contest, when he hit a single off Zac Gallen that barely made it past shortstop Geraldo Perdomo and into left field.

San Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado led off the fourth inning of Monday night's game against the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks with a single for his 2,000th career hit. Machado slashed an 0-1 knuckle-curve from Zac Gallen into the hole between third and short.
