A Chicago man has been arrested in connection to the slayings. A member of Gov. JB Pritzker's team was "shaken up but thankfully safe," the governor said in a statement Thursday.

FBI agents left a property in Chicago's Albany Park neighborhood that is connected to the suspect in a deadly shooting in outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington D.C. with boxes of evidence in hand Thursday afternoon.

Elias Rodriguez, a 31-year-old Chicago resident, was charged in the deaths of a young couple. Moments after a burst of gunfire was heard outside the Capital Jewish Museum in downtown Washington on Wednesday night, a breathless man in a blue suit rushed into the building.

The Department of Justice is investigating the Washington, DC, shooting that killed two Israeli Embassy staffers as an act of terrorism and a hate crime, as details continue to emerge about the violent act,

"Because of what happened in Washington, D.C., every Jewish organization, every Jewish institution is revisiting their security plans, is reviewing their protocols," said Daniel Goldwin, chief public affairs officer of the Jewish United Fund.

Several Jewish organizations and Chicago officials held a press conference Friday to condemn the fatal shooting of Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, Israeli Embassy staffers, on Wednesday night as they were leaving an event at a Jewish museum.
