(Reuters) -Real Madrid have signed defender Alvaro Carreras from Benfica, the LaLiga club said on Monday, marking a return to the Spanish side for the 22-year-old after he previously spent three years at Real's academy.

Real Madrid have signed Spanish defender Alvaro Carreras from Benfica. The 22-year-old has joined the Spanish club in a deal which is reported to be worth £43m and has signed a six-year contract. Carreras was part of Real Madrid's youth set-up from 2017 to 2020 before joining Manchester United.
