The Cleveland Browns have announced that Joe Flacco will be their starting quarterback for the Sept. 7 opener against AFC North rival Cincinnati.
The Browns acquired Pickett via trade earlier in the offseason and were expecting him to compete for the job in camp, but a hamstring injury definitely sabotaged his chances. Plus, there is a good chance that Flacco was always going to be the guy all along.
The Cleveland Browns announced on Monday that 40-year-old Joe Flacco will start at quarterback when Cleveland opens the 2025 regular season at home on Sept. 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals. The team’s official release said Flacco "has used the offseason, training camp and preseason to his advantage" and will lead the offense into Week 1.
