A man charged with tampering with evidence in connection to the ambush on a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention center in Texas allegedly tried to conceal anti-government and anti-Trump documents.
Newly revealed court filings show what went into an attack on an ICE detainment facility that left an officer with a gunshot wound to the neck.
Acting U.S. Attorney Nancy E. Larson called the attack “a planned ambush with the intent to kill ICE corrections officers.”
The officer was shot in the neck on Friday, the night of the Fourth of July , after reporting to the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, about 40 miles (65 kilometers) southwest of Dallas. He was treated at a hospital and released, the Johnson County Sheriff’s office said.
