Walmart has announced plans to lay off 1,500 corporate employees, part of what it calls a restructuring as it weighs plans to raise prices amid Trump administration tariffs.

Walmart will be cutting almost 1,500 corporate jobs, according to a memo sent to employees Wednesday. U.S. Chief Executive Officer John Furner and Chief Technology Officer Suresh Kumar notified corporate employees that the company would be reducing roles in the technology,

Walmart ( WMT) is laying off workers as part of a U.S. restructuring the retailing giant said was designed to "sharpen our focus" in order to "accelerate our progress delivering the experiences that will define the future of retail." The Wall Street Journal reported that 1,500 U.S. corporate positions would be eliminated.
