Millions vote for a new president, after six months of turmoil sparked by a failed martial law attempt and the impeachment of former leader Yoon Suk Yeol.

SEOUL, South Korea — South Koreans are heading to the polls on Tuesday to pick a new president, in an election widely seen as a referendum on President Yoon Suk Yeol and the governing conservative party.

The election is set to end months of leadership tumult that have followed the country’s short-lived imposition of martial law.
