Tens of thousands of protesters congregated outside the Minnesota State Capitol Saturday as part of the nationwide "No Kings" protest against the Trump administration, despite authorities urging people to stay home in the wake of the shock killing of Minnesota Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband.
The mass protest was focused on the Trump administration's actions that protesters believe are authoritarian and blur the line of democracy.
An estimated 10,000 people were in attendance at the “No Kings” rally that began in Pioneer Park and marched north through the downtown area, the Salt Lake City Police Department said. Gunfire was heard at around 8 p.m., with video posted online showing protesters fleeing in terror.
