The Celtics’ season ended in brutal fashion on Friday, as the Knicks stormed into the Eastern Conference finals with a 119-81 victory.
There was plenty of blame to spread around for the Celtics, but the biggest factors were poor 3-point shooting in Games 1 and 2 (Tatum), sloppy ball-handing that led to turnovers (Brown), poor end-of-game strategy (Mazzulla) and an inability to contain Brunson at key moments (Holiday).
The Pacers beat the Knicks in the second round of last year's playoffs in seven games. It will be fascinating to see who wins this series. Game 1 kicks off between the Pacers and Knicks on Wednesday, May 21 at 8:00 p.m. EST.
Entering Game 6 at Madison Square Garden, Kristaps Porzingis was averaging 4.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in 16.4 minutes per game.
Monday night, the Knicks will have to be considerably better — better defending the 3-point shot, better on the glass, better on the offensive end.
