Palou held off former Chip Ganassi Racing teammate Marcus Ericsson over the closing laps. Ericsson, the 2022 Indy 500 winner, finished second for Andretti Global in a 1-2 finish for Honda.

Palou has dominated the series since joining Chip Ganassi Racing in 2021, but he had yet to win on an oval — until Sunday afternoon, when he overtook Marcus Ericsson with 14 laps to go and led the rest of the way in the Super Bowl of the series before a sold-out crowd of more than 350,000 and a national-television audience.

Pato O’Ward (+500 at DraftKings Sportsbook): O’Ward was narrowly edged out by Newgarden in the 2024 Indianapolis 500 and will look to close the deal this time. He has placed second twice in the last four races this season, but did not place in the top 10 in practice. Dixon will start third and is at +250 to finish first or second.
